We are thrilled to announce that Cynthia Dwork will be joining our faculty on Spring 2017. Cynthia who is currently holds the position of a Distinguished Scientist at Microsoft Research, has done seminal work in cryptography and distributed computing, and more recently has been a leader in the study of privacy-preserving data analysis and more general connections between computing and society. She is the recipient of Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize, establishing the pillars on which every fault-tolerant system has been built for decades. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Science
